About LeTourneau University
Our university was founded in 1946 by R.G. LeTourneau. He was flying over the area that is now campus when his wife spotted an abandoned Army hospital. She thought it was perfect for a college. LeTourneau Technical Institute was born.
LeTourneau has grown into an established SACS and ABET accredited non-denominational Christian university with a gifted faculty, staff and student body. In fact, LeTourneau is consistently ranked in the Top Tier of America’s Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report.
Our faculty is comprised of 71 full-time members, 77% of whom hold doctorates or their field’s equivalent. LeTourneau has a 16:1 student/professor ratio and an average class size of 20.
Our student body is equally impressive. In 2007, our record number of students (3,925) came from 50 states, 25 nations and 49 different denominations.
